Studio 116 is excited to host a local celebration of World Book Night! This Wednesday, World Book Night will be celebrated across the US and around the globe. Here’s what this means:
We’ll be giving away FREE BOOKS! As a way to encourage the love of reading, we’ve been awarded copies of 100 Best-Loved Poems. While supplies last, these books will be FREE!
We’re hosting two great events! Our partner, the Troy University Rubicon, along with the Troy University English Department, are putting together these two great events: 6pm is a Creative Writing Workshop. If you have some writing that you are interested in sharing with other writers as a way to improve, or to get more perspective, please join us at 6pm! At 7:30 we’re hosting a Poetry Slam! This event will be a fun celebration: bring your favorite poems to share with the group. Come to hear poetry! We’ve hosted a Poetry/Spoken Word event in the past, and they are a lot of fun!
This whole evening is free and open to the community! Thank you to Samantha Loff, and everyone involved with the Rubicon- We are looking forward to this event on Wednesday!
ps: It’s William Shakespeare’s B-day, too! (He’ll turn 450.)
